Cold Laser Therapy
Cold laser therapy is a form of electrotherapy. Specifically, it is the application of red and near-infrared light over injuries or wounds to improve soft-tissue healing and relieve both acute and chronic pain. Cold laser therapy uses cold or subthermal laser-light energy to direct biostimulative light energy to the body’s cells.
Non-thermal laser-light energy treats nerve and soft tissue cells by supporting their return to a normal state after injury or chronic overuse. This type of stimulation can speed healing by as much as 75 percent, with both anti-inflammatory and immunosupportive effects.
Cold laser therapy promotes a process that reduces pain, inflammation and edema, while improving metabolism, circulation and tissue healing.
Treatments last 15–20 minutes and are three times per week over a five-week period.
